The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru says his administration is currently embarking on a programme to bring home indigenes of the State who are doing menial jobs outside the State.

The Governor explained that the motive is to empower and make them self reliant.

He was speaking at a Church service held at the Government House Chapel , Abakaliki.

" We will bring back our people who are doing menial jobs in other cities and empower them since they are not even being appreciated by the people they are working for. After all they are being exploited without commensurate remuneration. We are currently building warehouses and skills acquisition centres in our industrial City as part of measures to engage our youths meaningfully "

Governor Nwifuru said he has taken critical appraisal of the performances of some of his appointees and expressed dissatisfaction with what he described as failure of some of them to deliver on their mandates

" We are worried that the vision statement as contained in our people's charter of needs has not been satisfactorily realized which accounted for the minor reshuffle we did. Our mission and vision are explicit and that was why the people voted us . However we are still assessing them and we shall do the needful if the need arises "

He expressed his readiness to relieve non performers of their jobs in the event the grace period extended to them elapses without commensurate performances.

On the alleged diversion of funds by the Secretary to the State Government, the Governor said he will not take any action until proper investigations are concluded

"I received the news of a publication which was already before the Federal High Court Uyo about our Secretary to the State Government.

She is presumed innocent until investigation reveals otherwise . I am a lawyer and I know It is imperative to establish the facts before judgment to avoid setting wrong precedents." The Governor said.

He used the occasion to appeal to leaders of the State to disregard social media critics and come home to invest , assuring a conducive environment for businesses to thrive in the State .
